Service is critical for Entity Beauty, a small company with a high-end product. So, the start-up company, whose customers are nail salons across the globe, needed a logistics partner ready to respond to the demands of establishing their distribution system. They found one in DSC Logistics.

DSC provides service for Entity in packaging, kit building, hazardous shipping, transportation and export paperwork…the works. We provide the quick turnaround on shipping they need because their product, kits containing everything used to create nails, has to be replenished often.

DSC’s flexibility is essential in this operation. You name it, we do it. We build kits. We handle changing business requirements when our customer is reacting to consumer demand, collaborating with Entity to determine packaging, pack size, number of items in a case etc. We ship “each pick” orders to end users (individual salons), utilizing the “each pick” module in our warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory and move it through the warehouse. We ship large orders to distributors and trade show orders, including the booth and any marketing materials Entity wants to send. Much of what we do is custom packing of breakable containers.

We have extensive knowledge about hazardous shipping regulations and paperwork requirements, specifically related to international air freight shipping—also important, since we ship hazardous materials overseas regularly. We pay close attention to the different regulations for each product, for the U.S. and each country we ship to, and for each shipping method used. We must understand different languages and labeling practices. We must know, for instance, that some products are considered hazardous at greater weight but not in small amounts.
