DSC Logistics Names David Copeland Chief Financial Officer
Mark Spanier promoted to Senior Director, Accounting as DSC emphasizes financial future growth

Chicago, Illinois (November 16, 2010) – DSC Logistics, an integrated logistics and supply chain management company headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, has promoted David Copeland to chief financial officer and Mark Spanier to senior director, accounting operations. In his expanded role, Copeland will manage and assess the financial risks and health of the company and be the adviser to the CEO, the Advisory Board of Directors and the senior management team regarding the financial management of DSC Logistics. He will continue to lead and direct the company's financial and accounting functions, including responsibility for accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, risk management, treasury, pricing, tax, forecasting and planning, operational reporting and internal audit. Spanier will continue to have responsibility for the General Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll teams and take on responsibility for the company's financial systems, the travel support function, and will initiate and lead significant Finance projects and process improvement initiatives.

Since joining the organization in 2007 as vice president, Corporate Controller, and followed by his promotion in 2008 to vice president of Finance and Controller, Copeland has provided the leadership and managed the execution of an operationally sound accounting and control environment to support DSC's growth. Prior to joining DSC, Copeland's experience included leadership roles at Equity Office Properties Trust and the Chicago Housing Authority. Additionally, he held positions of increasing responsibility at Crate and Barrel and Deloitte & Touche. He also spent 2 years with the United States Peace Corps as a business teacher and economic development volunteer in the former Soviet Republic of Kazakhstan. David received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy with High Honors at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Spanier started at DSC in 1997 as a finance manager. His experience includes completing several special projects for the vice president of Information Technology, providing financial management support to the SVP of Operations and the Field Organization, customer pricing, financial start-up support, financial leadership for key clients, operations financial reporting and leading the enterprise wide budgeting process. In 2008 he moved into the Accounting department as director, and strengthened the teams he worked with to prepare DSC for the future, as well as successfully led the company through a JDE upgrade. Prior to joining DSC, Spanier was a finance manager with Navistar, and a financial analyst and a cost analyst at Ford Motor Company. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University and his MBA from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Mark earned his Certified Public Accountant designation in 2009.
