DSC Logistics Names Greg Goluska as Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Goluska to Drive Information Technology Vision for Company
Chicago, Illinois (December 20, 2006)—DSC Logistics, a leading nationwide third-party logistics provider, announced that it has named Greg Goluska as Vice President, Chief Information Officer. In his new role, Greg will be responsible for creating an Information Technology (IT) vision for the company. Greg will provide leadership for the IT group, positioning IT as a process leader within the Company. He will develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for IT, lead the IT organization in identifying emerging IT trends and develop responsive IT solutions for DSC’s customers.
Greg's career history reflects his strategic-thinking ability, and his 20 years of experience in CIO roles have shown a proven track record of successful implementation of complex, large scale IT and business process transformations – including development of global systems and enterprise-wide workflow redesign. Greg is business solutions focused and has a record of developing creative and responsive solutions. Prior to DSC, Greg was the CIO at Hendrickson International where, through creation of an overall IT strategy, he focused on repositioning the fragmented IT function to a value-added partner across five business units. Before joining Henrickson, he was an Independent Consultant responsible for evaluating Hendrickson's current IT environment including organization, technology, applications, and internal structure and processes. While consulting for a venture capital company, he created a strategic IT plan encompassing distributors for US, Japanese and European manufacturers, including JD Edwards and SAP capabilities. Greg was CIO of Marconi PLC, where he successfully implemented a global strategy and managed daily operations including all business applications, technical support, data centers, desktops and networking infrastructure.
Prior to Marconi, Greg worked at Motorola for almost 20 years, beginning as a Programmer/Applications Manager, and holding various titles including Vice President and CIO for a number of Motorola divisions. While at Motorola he created the first ever employee portal in 3.5 days, which improved internal communications and captured lost productivity. The effort received recognition in Fast Company, CIO and Trendscope magazines. He created a Digital Assets Library to collect and house marketing, customer, and product information across his entire company, and developed and implemented a global distribution resource planning system to ship cell phone orders within three hours of receipt. He left Motorola as Vice President Customer Support Systems, with responsibility for the $22 billion umbrella parent organization where he formulated enterprise strategy for customer-focused systems including customer data, e-business, service and call centers. Greg received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics at Loyola University in Chicago, IL. He has pursued post-graduate studies in Architecture at University of Illinois in Chicago, and MBA course work at Keller Graduate School, DeVry University in Chicago, Illinois.
