David Copeland

David Copeland is Vice President, Finance and Controller of DSC Logistics. David brings extensive financial and accounting experience to DSC, and plays a critical leadership role in building an enterprise-wide, operationally excellent accounting and control environment to support DSC’s growth. He builds on the solid foundation already established within DSC’s financial functions, both in the field and at Corporate, to institute and drive continual improvement efforts in accounting, and financial management processes. David’s role also includes responsibility for the treasury operations, advising DSC’s business managers on financial matters and their strategic implications, as well as being an inspiring leader for accounting professionals throughout the organization.

David comes to DSC from Equity Office Properties Trust, where he was Market Controller with responsibility for the fixed assets, revenue accounting and technical accounting areas. Prior to Equity Office Properties, David was the Assistant Comptroller for the Chicago Housing Authority, managing the General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Payroll and Risk Management departments. Before CHA, David worked as a Business Teacher and Economic Development Volunteer for the United States Peace Corps in the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan. Among other responsibilities, he taught business courses at East Kazakhstan State Technical University; during his final semester he taught his classes in Russian. He was also an Accounting Manager for Crate & Barrel and a Senior Auditor for Deloitte & Touche. David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy with High Honors at the University of Illinois, Urbana, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
