Manager, Internal Audit
DSC Logistics, an integrated logistics and supply chain management company, headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, focuses on supply chain capabilities that are based on changing customer needs. We currently have an opportunity for a Manager of Internal Audit at our corporate office in Des Plaines, IL. The Manager, Internal Audit will report to the Vice President of Finance and Controller with a dotted line to the Internal Audit Committee. Typical responsibilities include the following:
- Direct the identification and evaluation of the organization’s risk areas and prepare annual audit plan
- Prepare audit programs to guide the performance of audits
- Conduct audits in accordance with audit plan as well as additional audits based on identified risks
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Review preliminary audit findings with management of area subject to audit
- Prepare and distribute written reports with results of audits
- Review reports with and present key findings to Internal Audit Committee
Candidates selected to interview must meet the following minimum requirements for consideration for this position:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- Highly motivated, self-starter with minimum 8-10 years work experience, including accounting, auditing and/or industry experience
- Must be able to work independently with strong organization and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills required (written and verbal) for internal and external communications
- Must have good presentation skills and be comfortable working with employees at all levels
- Strong computer skills including word-processing, spreadsheet, and other software to prepare reports, memos, summaries, and analyses
- Must be able to manage tight timelines, balance priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be team-oriented contributor
Preferably the candidate has the following experience:
- Experience in conducting audits
- General understanding of warehouse and transportation operations
- JD Edwards One World experience and general ledger knowledge beneficial
