Hillary Clinton introduced by DSC Logistics CEO Ann Drake at IWF Hall of Fame induction
DSC Logistics CEO Ann Drake introduced Hillary Clinton as she was inducted into the International Women’s Forum (IWF) Hall of Fame last week. Also introducing Clinton was Donna Shalala, former US Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Bill Clinton and former Clinton Foundation president.
As she introduced Clinton, Drake called her one of the great leaders of our time. Talking about their serious focus on good grades and accomplishing things in high school, Drake, who has known Clinton since they met in ballet class at age eight, said, “I always did think she was the strongest leader I knew… an independent thinker, who made up her own mind and did the right thing.”
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony, honoring women from around the world who are diverse in their achievement but are united in their support of the next generation of women leaders, ended the IWF World Leadership Conference in Houston, October 25-26. In addition to the Hall of Fame induction, nine women were honored with the Woman Who Makes a Difference Awards. Drake was a recipient of the award in 2014.
The annual conference provides a platform for women thought leaders from across the globe to engage on the world’s most pressing challenges. This year’s theme, “Global Citizens: Interconnected, Inquisitive, Engaged,” explored the definition and significance of global citizenship in today’s often polarized world.
