DSC recognizes 2017 Thinkers & Movers award recipients
DSC Logistics announces the recipients of the 2017 Thinkers and Movers award recognizing individuals whose innovative leadership has impacted supply chain thinking and practices. The awards will be presented on July 19 to two outstanding professionals: Brian Hancock, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, Kansas City Southern (KCS), and Heather Sheehan, retired co-Chief Procurement Officer, Danaher Corporation, who now heads up her own consulting practice, Crispy Concepts, LLC.
DSC Logistics established the Thinkers and Movers Award in 2009. "Our profession is undergoing a dramatic transformation that began more than a decade ago,” said Ann Drake, Chairman & CEO of DSC Logistics. “Brian and Heather are two remarkable professionals who will continue to shape the future of our industry. It is an honor and a privilege to present them with this award.”
Prior to joining KCS, Hancock served as the Chief Supply Chain Officer of Dollar Tree, Inc., President of North American division for The Martin Brower Company, LLC, Vice President of Global Supply Chain for Whirlpool, Inc., and Vice President and General Manager at Schneider Logistics Inc. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and currently serves on the Marriott School Global Supply Chain Advisory Board at Brigham Young University.
“Brian’s leadership has influenced and impacted so many in our field,” said Michelle Dilley, DSC’s Chief Supply Chain Transformation Officer, a former colleague of Hancock’s. “He has an elevating effect on the teams he leads, the organizations he serves and the industry at large.”
Sheehan held worldwide responsibility for non-production and logistics sourcing, strategy and implementation across Danaher Corporation’s 40-plus operating companies. She was involved with operations in 125 countries and led successful supply chain changes as Danaher grew from $3 billion to over $20 billion in revenues. Today, she serves as Director, Member Engagement & Sponsorships of AWESOME (Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply Chain Operations, Management, and Education), where she supports the non-profit’s mission to advance women’s supply chain leadership.
“Heather is a consummate professional who has made a positive impact in every role she has held in her career,” said Nancy Nix, Executive Director of AWESOME. “Her ability to articulate a vision and set a team in motion toward a goal to deliver results is remarkable.”
